The primary goal of the Migrant Education Program (MEP) is to ensure that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma or complete a GED that prepares them for further learning, productive employment, and to be responsible community members. The Shenandoah Valley Migrant Education Program (SVMEP) is one of 10 regional programs of the Virginia Migrant Education Program. It is a federal Title I, part C program that is state-administered by the Office of Program Administration and Accountability at the Virginia State Department of Education. The Shenandoah Valley MEP
serves the public school systems in the cities of Harrisonburg and Winchester and the counties of Clarke,
Frederick, Fauquier, Loudon, Page, Prince William, Rappahanock, Rockingham,
Shenandoah and Warren. Our team includes 5 year-round, bilingual
(Spanish/English) Migrant Student Advocates, several work-study student employees and
over 20 trained volunteer tutors. |
La meta principal del Programa de Educación Migrante es asegurar que todos los estudiantes migrantes alcancen las difíciles normas académicas difíciles y se gradúen con un diploma de secundaria o reciban un GED (Diploma en Educación General) que los prepara para estudios posteriores aumentar su aprendizaje, encontrar empleo productivo y ser ciudadanos responsables.
El Programa de Educación Migrante del Valle de Shenandoah es uno de los
diez programas regionales del Programa de Educación Migrante de Virginia. Es
un programa federal bajo Título I, Parte C del Acta de la Educación
Elemental y Secundaria, el cual es administrado por La Oficina de
Administración y Cumplimiento del Departamento de Educación de Virginia. |
